About Our Club
The club and course came into being in the middle of World War II. This combined with the way the terrain looks up here on the mountain can make anyone wonder what they were thinking. However, we are very grateful that consul Wennert & co saw no ginders for this!
Mölle Has History Like No Other
On March 2, 1943, a group gathered at the Grand Hotel in Helsingborg to found the Mölle Golf Club. The enthusiastic gentlemen are - apart from Consul Wennerth - Allan Börjesson, Thorsten Jacobsson, Karl-Axel Bunke, Folke Hillerström, Allan Paulsson and Gunnar Lind. It may be added that this group constitutes almost a third of the total membership at this time. The newly formed club applies for membership in, and is accepted as member no. 27 of, the Swedish Golf Association.
1943 - Mölle Golf Club is formed.
1945 - The then Crown Prince Gustav VI Adolf inaugurates the course. 1946 - The first Mölle week is played in week 30, which it still does.
1949 - Telephone subscription is signed. Mill no. 12. Telephone operator hired June 15 - August 15.
1959 - SGF's then chairman Sune Malmström inaugurates the first 18-hole course.
1969 - SGF's then general secretary Lennart Bunke inaugurates the current 18-hole course stretch.
1984 - Sweden's first European Tour competition for ladies, Höganäs Sweden Open, is played and the winner is Kitrina Douglas.
1985 - Liselott Neumann wins the Höganäs Sweden Open.
1986 - 1994 - The Höganäs Ladies Open is played and among the winners you can find Annika Sörenstam (1990 and 1993).
